The Perfect Pony

We all remember that icky feeling of our hair sticking  to our necks on a boiling hot summers day, and we all hate it! Until the sun goes down, the hair stays up! 

When i realised the long weekend was going to consist of 30+ degree heat, I needed to think of a cute and causal up style that would go with whatever outfit I decided to wear. 

So, last Friday I took a visit to The Fashion Institute with my features Editor, Harriet (Harriet has been a long time journo and has worked at Dolly, Cosmopolitan and now has her own amazing online mag-so she knows her stuff!) we used the spacious upstairs area with enormous mirrors to play around with different styles and take a few snaps of the process!

My absolute favorite was the Perfect Pony kit by Scunci. It creates a simple, classic and effortless style, but the tool adds so much volume to your pony and gives it a huge lift. 

Your pony tail is left looking so full and chic. It can easily be used for a formal event by braiding a small strand of hair once the ponytail is complete and wrapping it around the elastic.

TIP: Ensure you have everything prepared before you begin, there is nothing worse than holding your ponytail in your hand while frantically running around looking for an elastic!

Start with your hair straight or curled (depending on your look) and knot free!

Shake your hair a little so it falls into place naturally and secure into a half up ponytail -if you want your ponytail to be SLEEK you can secure this ponytail with an elastic (seen in first series of pictures) or for a more natural/casual ponytail just hold it with your hand for 

the time being (seen in series of picture on the right)

Place the Perfect Pony tool underneath your half-up segment of hair - leave it there and then bring up the rest of your hair to... create the perfect ponytail!
