Get your hands dirty (literary) to get the perfect pout. Japanese make-up artist and Shu Uemura’s international artistic director, Kakuyasa Uchiide, and L-A based red carpet make-up artist, Georgie Eisdell, reveal their secrets, in a recent interview with Vogue Australia.
Eisdell recommends staining the lip first with a lip pencil, “I like to fill the entire lip with a pencil before I apply the lipstick. Layering and using a matt colour will always last longer than gloss or a lipstick with shine in it. It is important that a bold coloured lip always looks fresh, so keep the colour with you and touch up regularly”.
After applying lip liner, Uchiide recommends to use our most effective, (not to mention cheapest) tool. “Your finger is the best tool. Apply it on the centre of lips, and then blend out and around”.
