H&M - Melbourne

The world famous Swedish retailer H&M has finally decided to open in Melbourne, Australia. The new store has become one of H&M’s biggest in the world, occupying three floors and almost 5000 meters square!

On Saturday, 26th April, I finally visited H&M Australia. I’d never seen anything like it. As I approached the building, their was an enormous stream of people wrapped around a good half of the building. I stopped in my tracks and reconsidered lining up, then I thought to myself, how often was I going to be in Melbourne?

Surprisingly, the line moved quite quickly and before I knew it I was inside H&M, observing this monster building, decked out with clothes, accessories and …people. There were people everywhere!

One of the best shopping perks is at H&M is the huge Shopping bags in almost every corner of the shop. You can pick one up, and carry all your items around with you before you hit the change rooms. It is such a creative and beneficial idea – I love it.

When my bag began to overflow, I decided to make my way to the change rooms. The change rooms were a long, one-hour wait. After trying all my items on, I decided on what I wanted to buy, and made my way to the cashier. Another 30 minute wait.

And after four hours, I left H&M. With a surprising shopping experience, and one item of clothing… A men’s oversized jumper.
