Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Australia.
It is finally here! Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is a celebration of fashion and culture. Sydney becomes the nation's style attraction for Australia's most innovative fashion designers, red carpet celebrities and retailers. It is Australia's premier fashion and lifestyle event and showcases the contemporary Spring/Summer collections of Australia's leading designer brands.
MBFW kicked off last night at 5pm, with Carla Zampatti as the opening designer.
Redken Hair Director, Darren Borthwick worked closely with designer Carla Zampatti to create a hair look that was a little bit unusual and something beautiful to match the opening show of the week.
“For this hair look it was all about making the hair ultra, ultra shiny. To get that effect I mixed a gel and Redken Argan-6 Oil to create that high shine factor,” says Redken Hair Director, Darren Borthwick. “I also really wanted to play with the light that featured on the runway. I wanted to create something quite graphic and slick that played on the light. I worked really closely with Carla on this look and personally, I wanted to make something that was quite different,” continued Borthwick.
